Effective 7 October 2026
Principles
- Respect for persons: people choose whether they take part, and can change their minds.
- Do no harm: no study may put a participant's wellbeing at risk for the sake of a finding.
- Honesty: methods are fixed in advance, and every result is reported, including null results.
- Minimum data: we collect only what a question needs.
What research data we hold
| Data | Basis |
|---|---|
| Charts calculated on our server, with the name removed | Described in our privacy policy; no direct identifiers kept with the chart |
| Structured consultation summaries, under a pseudonym | Separate, optional consent at booking |
| Anonymous published case studies | A third consent, asked after the call, for that case only |
| Study-specific data such as questionnaires or sleep diaries | Informed consent for that study, with its own information sheet |
Informed consent
Before any study that asks you for new information, you receive a plain-language information sheet setting out its purpose, what is asked of you, the risks, how data is kept and who will see it. Consent is recorded, never assumed, and saying no never affects the service you receive.
Pseudonymisation
Participants appear in research data under a pseudonym of two Sanskrit words. Names and contact details are kept apart from research data and are never copied into it. Speakers in transcripts are relabelled so that names do not appear.
Withdrawal
You may withdraw at any time by writing to privacy@karmikarchitect.com. We remove your entries from the corpus and unpublish any case study. Results already published in aggregate cannot be recalled, but no one could identify you from them.
Vulnerable people
We do not recruit people under 18, and we do not ask anyone to take part in research while they are in crisis. A consultation is never used to recruit a participant into a study that would change the care they receive.
Ethical review
Studies that collect new data from people, beyond anonymised chart data, are reviewed before they begin by people independent of the research team, against these standards and the ICMR National Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical and Health Research Involving Human Participants where they apply.
Sharing with collaborators
Collaborators receive only de-identified data, under a written agreement that forbids re-identification and onward sharing, and requires deletion when the study ends.
Security
Research data is held on access-controlled servers, encrypted in transit, with access limited to named researchers and logged.
Publication
Findings are published with their pre-registered plan, methods and any deviations from it. We disclose our interests in every publication: we are a company that teaches and practises astrotherapy, and we say so.
Raising a concern
If you have a concern about any study, write to our grievance officer.
