The agreement
These terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. By using any of our services you agree to them, to our privacy policy and to the other policies linked from them. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
Who may use the services
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. Practitioners must in addition hold a current Astrotherapist licence to be listed or to take bookings.
What we provide
- Chart calculation and tools in the Karmik Architect app and website.
- Education: recorded courses and the astrotherapist programme.
- A directory and booking platform connecting clients with licensed astrotherapists.
- Research outputs, publications and case studies.
Consultations are delivered by the astrotherapist you book. We provide the platform, the training, the licence and the rules they practise under; each practitioner is responsible for the advice they give in a consultation.
The nature of astrotherapy
Astrology, and astrotherapy built on it, is a reflective and interpretive practice. Its scientific basis is not established, which is why we research it. Nothing on our services is medical, psychiatric, psychological, legal or financial advice, and nothing replaces a qualified professional. Please read our disclaimer.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details private and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done through it. Give accurate details when you book, especially your email address, since reminders, invitations and receipts go there.
Prices and payment
- Consultation prices are fixed per consultation, set by each practitioner, and shown in full before you pay. They are never charged per minute.
- Payments are taken through Google Play, Apple, or Razorpay, under their terms. We never see your card or UPI details.
- Prices include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Cancellations and refunds follow our refund and cancellation policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten or abuse a practitioner, a client or our staff;
- book under a false identity or enter someone else's birth details without their permission;
- record a consultation yourself without the other person's consent;
- copy, record, resell or redistribute course content;
- scrape, overload, probe or interfere with our systems, or get around usage limits;
- use the services for anything unlawful, including anything that breaks the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
Content and intellectual property
Our software, the Siddhanta engine, our designs, text, lectures and course materials belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. A course purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to watch it. Practitioners keep the rights to their own biographies and photographs and allow us to show them in the directory.
Other services
We rely on services such as Google, Apple, Razorpay, LiveKit and YouTube. Their terms apply to what they do, and we are not responsible for their availability or their content. Links to outside websites are for convenience, not endorsement.
No guarantees
We work to keep the services accurate and available, but provide them “as is”. We do not guarantee any outcome from a reading, a consultation or a course, or that the services will be uninterrupted or free of error.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on a chart, reading or consultation. Our total liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using our services, you agree to compensate us for the reasonable losses and costs that result.
Suspension and closure
You may stop using the services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account, or revoke a practitioner's licence, if these terms or our code of conduct are broken, telling you why unless the law prevents us.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. We would much rather resolve a problem directly, so please write to our grievance officer first. Otherwise, the courts at Surat, Gujarat have jurisdiction, without affecting your right as a consumer to approach a consumer commission.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the current version; significant changes will be notified in advance in the app or by email.
